Your Love Story

Tell us about your meeting, where it all started ...

My husband, Alex, and I grew up in the same small town in Connecticut. We ended up going to the same college and started dating then. That was 11 years ago! It was really fun to be able to grow up together.

What was the color palette for your wedding, your decorative inspirations?

Alex moved out to California for grad school and I was in New York after college. We did long distance for two years before I moved out to California as well. We both fell in love with California…the ocean, the sunsets, the lighting, the nature. The color palette and entire wedding was really a celebration of all that. We gravitated towards purple, navy and neutrals. The vibe was casual, beachy, but modern.

Your dress

How did you live your experience with us, how did you choose the dress?

I absolutely loved my dress and so happy I found Christina’s store!

I was having a lot of trouble finding the right dress after a few cancellations due to Covid. Nothing felt right for our smaller, intimate gathering. Through some online searches, I stumbled on Christina’s site and felt like this would be a different experience. I loved that she designed the dresses right there and that intimacy matched the vibe I was going for.

Only problem was that I had two months to go before my wedding! Christina let me know that she’d be able to show some sample dresses at the store that she could alter. Phew! I tried on the options she had pulled and immediately felt a difference from some other dresses. The fabric felt so nice to wear, the style was classic yet modern, and there were delicate touches that made every dress even more special. There were two options that I was debating between and Christina and I talked it over and she gave helpful, honest suggestions. I ultimately picked the “Olivia” and it was absolutely perfect!

Your souvenir

What is the best memory of your wedding?

I loved our ceremony. We had 15 guests and held the ceremony at the end of the Muir Beach Overlook. It really felt like the edge of the world. We asked each of our guests to share a word that we should take with us into our marriage and then shared our own vows to each other. Lots of tears, laughter and love.

Your tip

What advice would you give to future brides?

For me, it was helpful to have a very clear vision of the wedding details before purchasing a dress. That’s not necessarily true for everyone but these details gave me more clarity about how I wanted to feel and look on my wedding day.
