Love Story - Gabrielle (EN)

Your Love Story

Tell us about your meeting, where it all started ...

Tyler and Gabrielle met during quarantine on a dating app...truly a modern love story. Our first date was trivia night at a pub in Sonoma, my hometown. We were very blind-sighted by our connection. We quickly bonded over playing cards, making jokes, and going on adventures together. Within a few months we decided to move in together, working from home with two pets. On a typical weekend trip to the Northern California Coast, only about six months into the relationship, Tyler proposed. Truly, neither of us expected to fall so fast, but we are so happy and lucky to have found each other.

Your moodboard

What was the color palette for your wedding, your decorative inspirations?

There was not a color palette specifically, more just a desire to coordinate! My mom is an event planner by trade and quickly took the lead in wedding planning activities, infusing her fun, colorful ideas into the wedding. I am much more into neutrals and muted colors, wanting to lean into the nature of the venue and seasonal vibes - we got married in my Grandma's backyard! What resulted was a lot of mis-matched jewel tones paired with fall-bohemian flair.  Also--the Maggie Sunset dress truly was a major inspiration in the wedding planning process. We started reaching for rust and gold tones that would blend well with Maggie!

Your dress

How did you live your experience with us, how did you choose the dress?

I stumbled past Christina Sfez's shop on several trips to visit a childhood friend, Lindsay, in North Park, San Diego. She and I would gaze into the window and check out what was currently on the central mannequin every time we strolled through the neighborhood. The experience with Christina was better than I could have imagined. I do not know what I expected, but I was so pleasantly surprised to walk in, and meet the designer herself! Christina expertly and gracefully allowed me to pick a selection of dresses, try them on, pick more, try more on, and have so much freedom in my time there. Other shops were very structured and limiting and I loved the flexibility and support I had in her shop. Lindsay suggested I try Maggie in Sunset. I was hesitant, hoping for a white dress that would feel bridal. Once in Maggie, I felt both so comfortable and truly myself. It was the most flattering and delicate thing I have ever worn and I think it really encapsulated me as a bride. It was the best choice I have ever made.
