How to choose your veil to match with your dress? (EN)

Congratulations! You’ve just said “Yes to the dress”. Now it’s time to make the second most important decision for your look…

Veil or no veil?

To start, it is not mandatory!

Years of tradition will tell you to wear one if you are having a religious ceremony, but it's absolutely not required.

Your wishes, vision for your wedding, and the style of your dress can help you decide.

If you wish to wear a veil, here are some tips:

Your dress is full lace —

Opt for a plain, no-frills veil in natural silk tulle. A short veil creates a more modern look that’s perfect if you want something ceremonial and majestic as you walk down the aisle. Or, you can opt for our beaded veil, like Lauren, who wore it with our Chloé dress in embroidered tulle, to bring a little more character to your look.

Your dress is mostly plain -

Have you opted for a plain and modern silhouette like our Harper or Maggie dress? There are several choices available to you depending on the look you want to give. A plain silk tulle veil will accentuate the modernity and elegance of the outfit, while a veil with a lace border will add a romantic and delicate touch.

Your dress combines plain with lace details —

You have chosen a dress combining lace and a plain material, such as crepe de chine, heavy crepe, or silk satin: We recommend a short or long "cathedral" veil adorned with a border or embroidered with patterns matching the lace your dress.

“ The Myriam set is very modern and delicate at the same time, with the patterns of the tulle embroidered under the silk organza of the crepe de chine skirt. We created a long veil with edging and embroidered pieces of the lace from her dress directly onto it. The placement of the designs on this incredible veil creates a stunning silhouette by giving it a traditional side with the strong symbolism our bride desired.”
